Here are some common questions about our equine therapy services

What are equine assisted activities?
Equine-assisted activities (EAA) are structured, non clinical programs that involve interactions with horses to support learning, skill building, confidence, and overall well-being.

At Pegasus Special Riders we provide Therapeutic or adaptive riding- Structured horseback riding lessons adapted for individuals with physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges, focusing on riding skills and participation rather than treatment. Additionally, we offer horsemanship programs—learning general horse care, safety, and handling skills in an educational or recreational setting.

Our services are designed for individuals of all backgrounds, including children and adults who face physical, mental, and/or emotional challenges. Anyone interested in personal growth and connection with animals is welcome.

Each lesson is 30 minutes, once a week. Riders are paired with a horse, instructor, volunteer(s), and other riders according to riding ability and therapeutic need. Lessons may include indoor and outdoor riding and incorporate various challenges and/or games for the riders to participate in while on horseback.
